What is a Design Charrette?
A design charrette is a collaborative planning and design session where stakeholders, designers, architects, and other relevant parties come together to address design challenges and develop creative solutions. This process typically involves brainstorming, drawing, and prototyping in an interactive and inclusive environment.
The 35th Street Design Charrette will occur on Thursday, April 10th at Harley-Davidson University. In advance of the day-long event, Near West Side Partners (NWSP) is hosting focus groups to generate ideas for the redevelopment of key opportunity sites along North 35th Street in the Near West Side.
Opportunity Sites
– 35th Street – streetscaping and placemaking;
– Northern section – Mid City Shopping Site;
– North Central section – AT&T site;
– South Central section – 35th and Wisconsin, southwest site;
– Southern section – St. Paul to Park Hill destination district.
