On June 4, Concordia 27 and NWSP welcomed the Near West Side’s newest neighbor, Fruition MKE, an innovative co-working space that empowers Milwaukee thinkers to collaborate, use their creativity and grab a coffee!
Located at the corner of 27th and Wells, in the newly opened comprehensive community center Concordia 27, Fruition MKE offers local entrepreneurs the opportunity to gather close to home in the Near West Side.
Fruition MKE is the solution to a problem facing residents and business owners in the Near West Side, identified by two local entrepreneurs Rachaad Howard founder of Cream City Print Lounge and Tiffany Miller founder of Live in Bloom. Both agreed that there was a lack of a business space for creative, mobile thinkers like themselves to work and access a good coffee shop where people could collaborate without commuting out of the Near West Side. Out of their combined creativity, Fruition MKE was born.
The Fruition space serves three primary purposes: a collaboration space for coworking, a makerspace for creative thinkers and artists and a cafe offering quality coffee and healthy, delicious food.
The coworking space is filled with modern, collaboration-friendly furniture, as well as motivational books and artwork, allowing entrepreneurs and creative thinkers to overcome creative blocks and find inspiration.
One visitor touring Fruition MKE at the soft opening perfectly described the appeal of a coworking space, stating that such a space, especially at this location, allows people to “meet in a welcoming and friendly environment” and feel unafraid to socialize about their creative projects.
Fruition MKE’s opening is not only important for the entrepreneurs and residents who want to use the space but also for the growth of the community as a whole.
As Co-Founder Rachaad puts it, Fruition MKE has the opportunity to “be an anchor in the community for other small businesses to open,” as well as being “something for people to be excited about.”
And people are certainly getting excited. Fruition MKE’s soft opening was a major success, bringing in a large crowd of enthusiastic visitors, highlighted by one local Milwaukee resident who said she was “going to tell everybody she knows about this place.”
Fruition MKE will open on July 1 and will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Information about membership and pricing can be found here.
