Shaping the Future of Milwaukee’s 35th Street Corridor
In 2025, NWSP hosted the 35th Street Design Charrette at Harley-Davidson Campus, bringing together architects, designers, neighbors, business owners, elected officials and other stakeholders to discuss and collaboratively shape the future of Milwaukee’s 35th Street Corridor.
The full-day event focused on generating innovative, community-driven design solutions for five key opportunity sites along 35th Street.

Opportunities for revitalization include:
- Streetscaping and Placemaking
- Mid City Shopping Center Site
- AT&T Site
- 35th Street and Wisconsin Avenue Intersection
- Southern Gateway
Over the course of the day, participants engaged with five architectural and design teams, discussing the future vision for and offering feedback on initial concepts for the targeted sites. With community input, the teams created renderings and shared ideas about potential improvements for streetscapes, public spaces and new mixed-use developments along 35th Street.
Bring These Visions to Life
The work does not stop here – it takes a village to bring these ideas to life! NWSP is seeking development partners who share a vision for the Near West Side and are eager to invest in its promising future.
